Quick Food Fix: Candied Bacon

This week’s Quick Food Fix is something deliciously glorious! If you’ve never tried candied bacon, you’re going to want to prepare this right away! The first time I was introduced to candied bacon, I couldn’t get enough of it and had to have the last piece. This is something that you can cook up for any occasion, whether you’re having a party, want a quick snack or add it into your lunch, it’ll always be good!

This is really quick to prepare and will be cooked in no time:

Get your ingredients ready and set your oven to broil.

  • 1/2 pack of bacon
  • 1/4 cup of brown sugar
  • 2 tsp spicy paprika, or cayenne pepper

Mix the sugar and paprika in a bowl together. I like to use smoked spicy paprika, since it brings a nice smokey flavour to the bacon, but the recipe works perfectly with cayenne.

Mix the sugar and spicy paprika in a bowl.

Next thoroughly coat the bacon with the sugar and spicy paprika. Once coated, place the bacon on a baking tray.

Coat the bacon and place it on a baking tray.

Set the oven to broil and place the tray in the oven. Let the bacon cook for about 7-10 mins on high.

Broil the the bacon on high for about 7-10 mins or until the bacon is crisp and curling.

Once the bacon has become crispy and started to curl, your glorious snack is ready! Remove from tray and serve straight from the oven or save it for later, chances are though that they wont last until a later time.

Remove the bacon from the tray and set it out to be devoured!

How did you candied bacon turn out? Did you try something different?
