Quick Food Fix: Mango Chipotle Oven Baked Chips

I don’t know if you’ve ever noticed but relaxing on the couch and munching on some chips seem to go hand in hand. Last night I was in the mood for a relaxing night and thought it was the perfect opportunity to show you how to really become a couch potato.

This weeks quick food fix is a simple and quick recipe that makes delicious and crunchy oven baked chips. The best part is that it leaves plenty of room for experimenting with flavours!

All you need for this crunchy treat:

  • 1 potato per person, I used russet potatoes
  • 1/2 tbs olive oil
  • 1 tsp sea salt
  • 1/2 tbs favourite BBQ spice, I use Grill House Club Mango Chipotle and it comes out fantastic!

I like to use Grill House Club’s “Mango Chipotle” BBQ spice

Directions:

Start by pre-heating the oven to 425° F

Scrub the potatoes or peel them. This depends on your chip preference .

Next cut the potatoes into nice thin slices. This takes a steady hand, you might want to have an extra potato handy in case you cut your slices too thick at first.

Be sure to cut the potato into nice thin slices.

Once you have your chip slices, pat them dry with paper towel. Then lightly coat the slices in olive oil and sprinkle a bit of sea salt on them.

Place the chips in the oven on a greased baking tray for 10 minutes or until crispy.

Place the slices onto a greased baking tray, if you used more than 2 potatoes use a second tray. Let bake for 10 minutes or until crispy.

Season while warm and enjoy your chips!

Take the chips and place them in a large bowl. While still warm sprinkle them with the BBQ spice. Place them in a small bowl for serving along side your favourite soda and enjoy your lazy night!

Let me know how your chips turned out or what seasoning works for you!
